Poster Fund
The poster fund was created immediately after the museum was founded and contains more than 70,000 exhibits. A small part of the fund, approximately 4,000 exhibits (pre-revolutionary period), is sorted chronologically. The pre-revolutionary funds are rich in posters depicting the work of professional Georgian and non-Georgian theaters and professional theater figures: Vano Sarajishvili, Vaso Abashidze, Mako Saparova-Abashidze, Lado Aleksi-Meskhishvili, Giorgi Fronispireli, Valerian Gunia, Nato Gabunia, Yuza Zardalishvili, Kote Meskhi, Theodore Chaliapin, actors of the Moscow Imperial Theater and others, as well as materials depicting the work of dramatic circles of stage lovers and public theaters.
Of particular importance is the pre-revolutionary and post-revolutionary Opera Theater Fund, which covers the period from 1871 to the present. The posters preserved in this fund are of special value, since in 1973 the Opera and Ballet Theater Museum was completely destroyed by fire, and a large part of the posters preserved in the storage facilities are the only copies preserved to us. The fund includes performances held at the Treasury Theater, Zubalashvili Public House, Nikitin Circus, Vera, Ortachala, Avchala, Avlabari, Muslim Auditoriums, Craftsmen's Clubs and other stages.
The fund is rich in artistic posters reflecting the history and development of Georgian cinema - feature, documentary or animated film.
