
Modern and Contemporary Georgian Paintings
On December 25 at 7:00 p.m., the Art Palace of Georgia – Museum of Cultural History hosted the exhibition “Modern and Contemporary Georgian Paintings” dedicated to the 120th birthday of the founder of the Art Palace, David Arsenishvili.
The exhibition features paintings and graphic works collected by the museum over the past 10 years, which reflect the history of modern and contemporary Georgian painting. On exhibition are such big names as: Ivane Askurava, Elene Akhvlediani, Givi Aghapishvili, Bakur Bakuradze, Gia Bughadze, Irina Gabiani, Davit Gagoshidze, Irakli Gamrekeli, Rusudan Gachechiladze, Zaur Gamkrelidze, Gogi Gegechkori, Mariam Giorgobiani, Givi Gulisashvili, Davit Gedevanishvili, Teimuraz Gotsadze, Zurab Gomelauri, Lado Gudiashvili, Simon Dadiani, Sofia Varazi, Alexandre Vashakmadze, Jovani Vepkhvadze, Dimitri Tavadze, Olesia Tavadze, Giorgi Tekturmanidze, Kakhaber Topchishvili, Manana Tumanishvili, Marina Ivanishvili, Konstantine Kakabadze, Karlo Kacharava, Temur Kvezereli, Olga Koniashvili, Irma Kusiani, Karlo Kukuladze, Tamar Letey-Vachnadze, Jemal Lolua, Ketevan Maisuradze, Mamia Malazonia, Ketevan Maghalashvili, Otar Megrelidze, Elene Melkadze, Levan Medzmariashvili, Irakli Mdivani, Tengiz Mirzashvili, Davit Monavardisashvili, Muraz Murvanidze, Leona Nakashidze, Petre Otskheli, Shalva Samniashvili, Valerian Sidamon-Eristavi, Elene Sologhashvili, David Sikharulidze, Merab Surviladze, Nino Peradze, Tengiz Kavtaradze, Shalva Kikodze, Sergo Kobuladze, Nikoloz Kazbegi, Nino Chakvetadze, Mamuka Tsetskhladze, Levan Tsutskiridze, Davit Khidasheli, Davit Khoshtaria, Beka Jokhadze.
The exhibition also included the presentation of the book Dimitri Tavadze by L. Chichinadze, published with the support of the Georgian Ministry of Culture, and the catalog of the Art Palace compiled by G. Kalandia.
