Otar Megrelidze's personal exhibition

An exhibition of works by the artist, illustrator, and calligrapher Otar Megrelidze has opened at the Art Palace of Georgia  – Museum of Cultural History.
The exhibition features paintings and calligraphic works created in recent years. The artist used fabric, appliqué, oil, and gouache paints in the creation of these works.

Otar Megrelidze has illustrated children’s literature for both Georgian and international publications. In 2018, within the framework of the Frankfurt Book Fair, his calligraphic works were exhibited at the Offenbach Museum of Typography.

A calligraphic manuscript of “The Life of King of Kings David”, transcribed by Otar Megrelidze, is preserved in the British Library. One of his paintings is held in the private collection of the renowned Japanese collector Amizaki, the owner of Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers.”

He has published calligraphically transcribed and artistically designed manuscript books, including “Psalms” and “The Ancient Patericon.”

The artist has made a significant contribution not only to the development of Georgian culture, but also to the promotion of Georgia’s history, Georgian script, and Georgian traditions.
