On September 4 at 7:00 PM, the Art Palace of Georgia -  Museum of Cultural History invites you to the 105th anniversary exhibition of the renowned Georgian artist, State Prize Laureate, and Honoured Artist of Georgia, Alexi Vepkhvadze.

This exhibition is particularly significant, as it marks the artist’s first-ever solo exhibition. Sadly, Alexi Vepkhvadze never had a personal exhibition during his lifetime.

The exhibition will feature 26 paintings spanning a variety of genres, showcasing the artist’s exceptional mastery, his profound psychological insight into his subjects, and his academic precision.

Alexi Vepkhvadze studied at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and at the Repin Institute of Arts in Leningrad, where he studied in Professor Rudolf Frentz’s battle painting class. His diploma work, Wounded Bagration on the Field of Borodino, received the highest possible evaluation.

In 1951, Vepkhvadze was awarded the State Prize, and in 1965 he was honoured with the title of Honoured Artist of Georgia.
